Tu me donnes à manger, et tu me laisses me reposer. Amen. DMX ".
DMX enregistra le puissant single "Get At Me Dog", qui a atteint les sommets du Top 40 US.
Son premier album, "It's Dark And Hell Is Hot", s'est rendu à la première place des charts US.
L'album suivant, "Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood", est resté à la première place aux USA pendant trois semaines. L'album a pour “featuring” The LOX, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige ("Coming From") et l'étrange Marilyn Manson ("The Omen").
En Octobre 2001, DMX a sorti son quatrième album : "The Great Depression".

What Awards 2003: The Best in Christian Hip Hop
Written by Kymo Dockett - wtwmagazine.com
Over the last several years the unemployment rate across this nation has risen at a steady rate. Many companies have laid off thousands of workers while many other corporations have gone out of business altogether. Most people in the labor force would agree that finding a decent job can be challenging. While we can scrutinize these and other awful statistics about joblessness, I want to propose to you that there is a place where there seems to be an endless amount of quality jobs available. I'm referring to the Kingdom of God.
Don't get me wrong, Just like there appears to be fewer quality jobs in the world, the contrary is true for the church. For Christians the job market is exploding like never before. As the world becomes a more sinful place in which to live, there is a greater need for Christians who recognize that they have a job to do. If you look around you, you know that with all the negative realities that are occurring that this is not the time to be complacent. In other words, if you are a follower of Christ you should be aggressively working to advance the Kingdom of God in some way. Thre is no real justification to be on the “unemployment line” waiting on God to launch you out to do some work for Him.
Right or wrong, I simply applaud new Christ-followers like DMX who seem to understand the importance of rolling up their sleeves and getting right to work for God. There are many believers who have been in the church for years who still have not learned the importance of the Great Commission (Mark 16:15-18). They have been sitting in the same pew for decades, feeling justified that they attend church on a regular basis. But God uses folks who make themselves available to Him, not those who breathe good air in the church building but don't put their hand to the plow! Before the old headz know it, the new blood will surpass them and their witness!
I believe that God is currently recruiting catz like DMX who may not know all the Scriptures the average church member knows, but has a genuine desire to make a difference in this generation for Christ. God put each of us here for a reason. He is not pleased with our selfish lifestyles. Though some of us may be unsure about our purpose, we can rest assured that all we need to do is pray, ask God, trust Him for guidance, and work for the Lord wherever the need presents itself. If the truth be told, the church has not been doing its job lately. So God is in the process of recruiting some new employees who are not simply content to sit in church chillin' not all Christians sat around this year twitting their thumbs. There were many believers who matched words with action and made a difference for Christ. They understood that their lives are supposed to mean something; or else God wouldn't have created them to begin with. This is one of the main reasons why we sponsor the What Awards. We want to recognize those who have been laboring for Christ all year as they went about impacting lives through Christian hip hop. We understand that the harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few. The individuals who were nominated this year are more than emcees, producers, and individuals within the Christian hip hop community. These individuals are people who God is using to bring about a change in this generation so that His purpose can be fulfilled.
As you read through the nominations this month, please don't get offended because you or your favorite artists didn't get nominated for a particular award. The What Awards is not a popularity contest or a showcase. We consider these nominees exceptional examples of people using their lives the right way. To be honest with you, whether you received a nomination or not, if you are doing your thing for Christ to the fullest please know that God will reward you. There are so many people doing wonderful things for God. We simply couldn't recognize everyone.
In this month's edition, we presented the nominations for the different What Awards. In December, we will be presenting all our winners. Plus, we will be giving out our WTW Person of the Year award. Meanwhile, please consider taking a moment to post a message on our message board to show some appreciation to some of your favorite artists within the Christian hip hop community. I'm sure that we all have personal testimonies about how different individuals have impacted our lives this year. We will see you next month as we announce the winners.
To be honest with you, whether you received a nomination or not, if you are doing your thing for Christ to the fullest please know that God will reward you.
Catz like DMX will put in the same kind of energy in advancing the Kingdom of God like they did advancing their own purposes when they were in the world. What kind of energy did you put into advancing the Kingdom of God this year?
