Go, tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is born.

While shepards kept their watching
o'er silent flocks by night,
behond, throughout the heavens
There shone a holy light.

The shepards feared and trembled
when lo, above the earth
rang out the angel chorus
that hailed our Saviour's birth!

Down in a lonely manger
the humble Christ was born,
and God sent our salvation
that blessed Christmas morn.
